$8,000 Tax Credit for First Time HomeBuyers
HOAP is an innovative homebuyer assistance program that enhances homeownership opportunities for low income families.
Funded primarily by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the Homeownership Assistance Program (HOAP) has provided down payment and closing cost assistance to hundreds of low income families throughout unincorporated Fulton County.
The program provides up to $10,000 for down payment and closing costs in the form of a deferred payment loan, which requires no form of payment as long as the home remains the primary residence of the homebuyer. Twenty (20) percent of the loan will be forgiven annually.
Eligible Criteria:
- Home must be purchased in Fulton County outside of Atlanta city limits.
- Maximum purchase price of the home is $252,834.00
- The home buyer must occupy the property as their primary residence for the (5) five year period of affordability.
- Annual household income must not exceed the limits based upon family size as set by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
- Home buyer must select one of the participating lenders.
